Board of Directors Elects New Officers

 Chapter elected Dennis Wu, chair; Dennis Schmal, vice chair and sponsor committee chair; Liz Fetter, treasurer; Nora Denzel, nominating/governance committee chair; Don Yee, Capital Valley Area committee chair; and Wendy Beecham, program committee chair

 

SAN FRANCISCO (January 23, 2018) –The Northern California Chapter (serving Capital Valley, Sacramento and surrounding areas, San Francisco, and Silicon Valley) of the National Association of Corporate Directors (NACD) at its last board meeting elected new officers and committee chairs.

The chapter acknowledges and thanks Lydia Beebe, former chair, and Evelyn Dilsaver, former director, for their many years of dedication to NACD. We honor their unmatched service to the chapter’s development, and they will both stay on as Director Emeritus.

Former Chair Lydia Beebe observes, “Great things are in store for our chapter, and I am proud of the progress we have made together to date. A special thanks goes to our board members for the opportunity to lead; I appreciate the confidence and support.”

Newly elected Chapter Chair Dennis Wu states, “Building upon the strong work of our former officers and our members’ engagement, the NACD Northern California Chapter is expanding both in outreach and in quality of programming. We look forward to a new year of advancing the performance of board leadership by cultivating collaboration among all stakeholders.”

Executive Director Lisa Spivey adds her salute to the strong work of Lydia and Mary Jo: “I look forward to working with new board leadership to continue the chapter’s upward trajectory.” Noting that the chapter now has 1,400 members and 75 full board member companies located in its footprint, Spivey’s agenda for the upcoming year includes expansion in the Capital Valley and Silicon Valley areas, as well as continued robust programming and member engagement.
